More Japanese Games… Kind Of

The most interesting thing I saw during the Belmont horse race was not the race itself. ( the Big Brown folks – the trainer especially were too cocky for me) anyway..
so I saw commercials for 2 new shows on ABC.

One is called WIPEOUT clearly another american version of Ninja Warrior. I suppose people who don’t have the G4TV channel will find it interesting. Real Ninja Warrior fans however will find it a joke. On WIPEOUT people are competing for $50,000. America, its always about the money. Many of the contestants on NW are there for the sake of actually completing the grueling obstacle course. Its sport! This WIPEOUT thing is just going to be people making fools of themselves. I haven’t even seen an episode and already I don’t like it. LOL. I am really fair aren’t I?

AND…. in case this WIPEOUT show doesn’t work out, ABC has another show on deck. Something called ‘I survived a Japanese Game Show’. Well… if you can’t beat ‘em… :-) So they are going to send american contestants to Japan to compete and then they are going to come back and show us how they made a fool of themselves. Ay ay ay.

I mean seriously. Can’t we come up with our own game shows? Or must we always copy from other countries?!?!?

Ninja Warrior

These days I feel like all I ever write about is stuff I hate. Like Grumpy Smurf “I hate smurfy cakes, I hate Brainy smurf, I hate Smurfette, I hate Gargamel” …well everyone hated Gargamel. So, instead of being grumpy, today, I’m going to tell you about something I really like.

Really, forget American Gladiators. I’m addicted to something much better – Ninja Warrior. Have you seen this show?!? Its on G4Tv. Its great! The competitors climb things, balance on things, pull up, push through, try to stay up, hang on… Man I love sport. There are all kinds of contestants, young, old athletes, construction workers, firefighters,  all kinds. Last week I saw 2 former U.S. Mens Olympic Gymnasts on the show. One of them actually had his gold medal… ay ay ay. Americans.

Seriously though, this stuff is for real! I could never do any of this so I get very excited when someone makes it through. Watch this clip.

The best part is the commentators. Color commentary in Japanese. You can’t beat that.
